How to prepare the Garden Bed?
Select the location for your garden bed. Most flower plants grow well in full sunlight. The area that receives maximum sunlight for five to six hours of day is best for your flower garden. The things that you will need for preparing the garden bed are
  • Iron rake (for pulling grass)
  • A hose (to edge out the line of the garden)
  • A shovel (to turn over the soil)
  • Edgers (to make edge of the garden)
Preparing the Garden Bed:
Inspect the garden area before preparing the flower bed. If it is full of weeds, it is important to remove the weeds from the area. This can be done either by spraying herbicide on the weeds or removing the weeds by hand. Dig the soil about few inches. Blend the soil with natural mulch and add organic compost to it. Adding organic compost will increase the nutrient contents in the soil while natural mulching will avoid the further growth of weeds in the garden bed.
Select the proper design for your bed. Keep a path in between the garden for walking and watering the plants. Plant the seeds in the prepared garden bed. Water them gently.
